Why should construction arcs not be erased?

Tips for Perfect Constructions

$1. Keep your compass tight. If the compass slips, your arcs will be wrong and the construction fails. Tighten the screw before starting.$

$2. Use a sharp pencil in the compass. A thick pencil lead creates fuzzy arcs. Sharp lead gives precise intersection points.$

$3. Do not erase construction arcs. In exams, you must show all arcs and construction lines. They prove you used the correct method. Erasing them can cost marks.$

$4. Label every point immediately. As soon as you mark a point, label it (A, B, P, Q, etc.). This prevents confusion later.$

$5. Know your angle building blocks. With a compass, you can directly construct 60 degrees (equilateral triangle arc). From there: bisect to get 30, construct 90 using perpendicular, bisect 90 to get 45, and so on.$
